Mini Review: Simon's Cat

If you are a fan of Simon and his cat, this compilation will certainly resonate.  For us other cat lovers who are only peripherally aware of the role of this human and feline in the universe, the stringy, black and white scribbly cartoons don't add much to our life.  This one either works for you or it doesn't, and for me, no words, no color, no familiarity equals no go.  The best I can say is it was a quick 'read.'

I won  this book in an online blog contest sponsored by Hachette Book Group.

  1. I've never heard of Simon...but I am always looking for some good cat humor.

  2. Lenore, I'd be interested in hearing from others who are not familiar with Simon. I love cats and cat humor but just couldn't warm up to this particular feline/human duo.

  3. I've watched the youtube videos of Simon's cat and I'm a huge fan of them. But I can see how the book version of it might fall short.

  4. See, that's funny, because I got the book from Jon's parents for Christmas and loved it! For those not familiar with Simon's cat, he's the star of several hilarious YouTube cartoons - my favorite one is here:

  6. Shucks...I was considering giving this to Tutu's daughter thinking it would be more in her demographic. See how well I know my daughter! and she's right....now that I'm aware of the you tube..those are hilarious. They just don't translate to still cartoons.
