I found that she prevented me from loving the book, as it's hard to get into a book when you don't like the main character. I've never read Still Alice. A moose appears. A child runs into the street. A dog is suddenly in front of your car. Or the approaching car has just drifted into your lane. But you are looking down for just that second. Not only texting but eating, looking at the person beside you, checking something in the back seat, changing the cd or radio station. All these 'little' things can change one's life in no time.
In the old days all anyone did in a moving car was smoke. I'm not sure cigarettes are so bad when compared to driving now. People also drove for the pleasure of driving. Now people get in the car and have to do something else to pass the time.
Not sure I want to read this one. I LOVED Still Alice, and most of the reason is because I liked her so much. I have a hard time with a book if I don't like the main character. I don't want to have to work. :<)Nanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15547916206007733970noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7350594965135670564.post-18988797660142377502012-08-01T13:52:17.020-04:002012-08-01T13:52:17.020-04:00i read a few reviews that made me think I would no...i read a few reviews that made me think I would not like this one as much as "Still Alice"..but maybe I was wrong.
it happens..lolcaitehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05824538078958999767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7350594965135670564.post-83376869433346527332012-08-01T08:46:21.983-04:002012-08-01T08:46:21.983-04:00I loved this book! I, too, felt like smacking Sara for most of the book...but I guess that was part of the point of the book, wasn't it?
